JNTUH Hyderabad: A notification was released for all affiliated colleges JNTUH regarding the implementation of Bio-metric attendance system for all Staff, Students and Faculty. There are totally 158 engineering colleges across Telangana. In a notice issued to all these affiliated colleges recently, the university has advised college’s managements to adopt B
iometric attendance system for all students as well as staff/faculty members. While bio-metric for faculty members will be taken up (in the 1st phase), the same for students has to be taken up (in the 2nd phase).
Here is the Info that is said in the Notification:
It is proposed to implement the Bio-metric Attendance System (BAS) for the students, staff and faculty of all affiliated colleges under JNTUH. In the meeting of Vice Chancellors with Telangana Honorable Chief Minister, KCR and Education Minister, Kadiyam Srihari. The Hon’ble CM, K. Chandrashekar Rao informed to launch Biometric attendance System in all the Educational Institutions under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) immediately. Also, the University has informed to introduce the Biometric attendance system for all students and faculty in affiliated colleges while announcing the affiliation orders. And The colleges are hereby informed to obtain and install Bio-metric attendance system (BAS) for online capturing of attendance of Staff/Faculty (in 1st Phase) and Students (in 2nd Phase).
Further, the Govt. of India has made it compulsory to all biometric devices to get STQC (Standardization Testing and Quality Certification) certificate to meet the Technical Specification of UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). The Directorate of STQC impaneled Biometric authentication device suppliers and displayed in their web site. The colleges are informed to procure the Biometric Attendance device which complies with the following features:
1. Integrated Attendance Device (Type – 1): Tablet: with in-built Finger Print Scanner, bar code reader, RFID card reader, WiFi, GPS, GSM with 4G/3G data connectivity, IRIS interface (optional).
2. Integrated Attendance device (Type – 2): PoS (Point of Sale) with in-built Finger Print Scanner, bar code reader, RFID card reader, WiFi, GPS, GSM with 4G/3G data connectivity, IRIS interface (optional).
The registration of the staff/students members with the JNTUH/CGG Software application and issuing RFID cards is to be completed simultaneously and Bio-metric attendance system (BAS) shall be put into operation by 17-12-2016.
